Faces of MePACS: Response Monitor – Ticki

MePACS Team | Faces of MePACS , News & Updates

Ticki is an Emergency Response Monitor at MePACS Personal Alarms. Our delightful Ticki sat down with us and gave us an insight into her role and what she likes to do outside of work.

How long have you worked at MePACS?

I have worked with Peninsula Health for over 6 years, with the last 5 years at MePACS as a response monitor.

What is your background?

I have a Certificate 3 in Health and also a Diploma of Community Service specialising in Case Management. These qualifications gave me the opportunity to work in many wards and departments across Peninsula Health including Rehabilitation, Palliative Care and Emergency. Then I moved into a role which involved talking to people on the phone in the allocations department and then when a role came up within the MePACS team I jumped at it– I just love talking to our customers and making a difference to our clients.

What does a typical day in your role involve?

My role at MePACS is responding to our clients’ calls for help. Their reasons are vary varied, from medical and fall incidences to clients who just want to say hello.

What do you like best about your job as a MePACS Response Monitor?

I love that I make a difference in our clients’ lives, sometimes I’m the only person they talk to all day. I also really admire the dedication of the people I work with. My colleagues are exceptional and I really enjoy coming to work every single day. There is no doubt that my job comes with highs and lows, but working as a close knit team, we all support each one other.

Our delightful Ticki can always been seen with a smile on her face

What has been one highlight working at MePACS?

I really enjoyed being part of the team who were filmed as part of our MePACS TV commercial.

What do you enjoy most about working at MePACS?

I am so fortunate to work for an organisation that nurtures and encourages their staff to grow and develop their skills.

What do you like to do when you’re not working at MePACS?

I am currently writing an autobiography – from where I have come from to who I am now. I love spending time with my family. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Both of my two daughters, my son-in-law and grandchildren visit us every weekend and help out at our family run Christmas tree farm. I also like riding my motorbike and exploring the country side. Last year I ticked off my bucket list and travelled from Adelaide to Darwin on the ‘Ghan – the train trip through the middle of Australia. My next adventure and bucket list item is a push bike and barge trip with my girlfriends in Belgium, I can’t wait!

Any quirky facts you can tell us about yourself?

A few years ago, I was on Triple M radio to do a regular comedy sketch segment.
