Faces of MePACS: NDIS Specialist – Jaide

MePACS Team | Faces of MePACS , NDIS/Disability

Jaide is our dedicated NDIS Business Development Specialist at MePACS. Originally from the UK, she enjoys helping our clients with a disability to live an independent life whilst still feeling safe and supported.

What does a typical day involve?

“As the NDIS Specialist, I work with occupational therapists, support coordinators and plan managers to ensure they have the most up-to-date information on personal alarm products and services, in order for their clients to make the right choices in personal alarms for their lifestyle and disability.  We also go through all the MePACS products features including those with automatic fall detection, GPS and the benefits of a 24/7 fully monitored service.

I also speak to the NDIS participants themselves to understand what they need from a personal alarm and how we can help them achieve their requirements to feel more independent.”

What do you enjoy most about your role?

“I have a sense of satisfaction in helping clients feel safer both at home and away – they know they can rely on a MePACS alarm that connects to our 24/7 emergency response team quickly. I also love meeting other NDIS professionals, because we share a passion about helping people living with disabilities achieve their life goals and to live confidently.

My younger brother has Cerebral Palsy and is also an NDIS participant, so with that personal link I understand how important safety and independence are to young people with a disability.”

Why did you choose to work at MePACS?

“Originally, I started out as a MePACS emergency response monitor because I wanted to give back to our community through a personalised and caring healthcare service. I then moved into the inbound sales team so I could help people take up our service and understand how vital a personal alarm can be to safety and security when you live alone with serious medical conditions.

It’s also great that MePACS is an approved supplier of the National Disability Insurance Scheme so eligible participants can purchase their personal alarm through this approved funding.”

What has been a highlight or memorable moment in your role?

“A highlight for me so far was attending the ATSA disability expo in Melbourne where I was able to see some of the amazing advancements in equipment and technology for NDIS participants, that can make so much difference to their lives.

It also allowed me to connect with like-minded people who want to help people living with a disability have as much freedom of choice as possible, live independently and achieve their goals.”

What do you like to do outside of work?

“Outside of work, I enjoy visiting the wineries and restaurants on the Mornington Peninsula – I feel very lucky to be living in such a beautiful country!”
