Jaide is a Sales Consultant at MePACS. Originally from the UK, she enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and learning life stories from anyone who calls in.
What does a typical day involve?
A typical day for me involves answering phone calls from individuals and their families that are interested in personal alarms, dealing with case managers and OT’s and following up on any outstanding applications – and a few cups of tea and coffee mixed in there too!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love that my role in sales is very busy and sometimes challenging! I have great conversations with people from all walks of life, and it’s so interesting to learn more about them, their families and experiences.
Why did you choose to work at MePACS?
I’ve always wanted to help people and give back to the community. My mum and sister are both nurses, so I followed their lead and now all three of us have such rewarding roles in healthcare. I started as a monitor in the emergency response team, then moved into the sales team when the opportunity came up to try something different.
What has been a highlight or memorable moment in your role?
I have so many memorable moments! A couple that stand out in particular, I was speaking to a gentleman whose father used to play for Manchester United in the 1920’s (My football team from England)! He told me some fantastic stories about his father and the life he lived.
Then another lady who moved to Melbourne from the UK and had a huge shock when she was asked to leave the pub she entered as women weren’t allowed in – to which she advised she walked straight to the bar and asked for a pint! I love speaking to our clients about their lives – their experiences are completely different from mine as a young person and memories shouldn’t be left untold!
What is your career background?
I am a hairdresser and beauty therapist by trade – I used to have two salons and also own a tanning brand. I also have a lot of experience in sales in varying industries from hair & beauty to transport and logistics.
Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I am from Mossley in the UK where the Counties of Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire all meet. I also used to do the dances at the half time shows for the matches at Manchester City Football Club when I was 16.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love visiting the beautiful restaurants and wineries on the Mornington Peninsula with my fiancé. I have 2 Pugs called Ollie & Milo and a Bull Terrier called Queen Betty who I love to spend time with – they are my babies! I have also been busy planning my wedding, although I had to move it twice now due to the current COVID situation. But I will get there eventually!
