Alfred and Mary Ann have been part of the MePACS personal alarm service since 2017.
After Alfred suffered a heart attack in 2016, he realised the importance of taking extra measures to monitor his health, particularly because he and his wife, Mary Ann, live independently. They wanted to continue enjoying the comfort of their own home without worrying about medical emergencies, but they also wanted peace of mind for their family.
“If anything happened again, we’d have the security knowing that help is available 24/7 from the friendly MePACS team”, Said Alfred.
Once they joined MePACS, they found the peace of mind they were seeking. Knowing that MePACS responds to every alert within two minutes provided them and their family with the reassurance they needed to feel safe at home.
MePACS Home Alarm for safety at home
Alfred and Mary Ann signed up for the MePACS Home Alarm and had the base unit installed in their home. They each have their own pendant that they wear every day, and both pendants are connected to the same base unit. This means that if anything happens, they can independently press the help button to call for help .
They were so impressed with the home alarm that they decided to get a MePACS Mobile Alarm as well. The Mobile Alarm works anywhere in Australia where there’s good cellular reception, which means they can also feel safe and independent while being out and about with friends, shopping or going for walks in their local neighbourhood.
Alfred says the the Mobile alarm gives him confidence to go for longer walks. “I was always worried about going too far, but now the MePACS Mobile Alarm makes me feel more secure.”
Alfred and Mary Ann now feel reassured when they go out on their own, and enjoy their afternoon activities more than ever with confidence. Having two alarms also means that Mary Ann can take the MePACS Mobile Alarm when she goes to Bingo, while Alfred is at home with the Home Alarm.”
