How does the Duress Alarm work?

1. Check-in (optional)
Press the button and provide your exact location prior to attending a potential high-risk situation or a highly populated location, such as an apartment block or caravan site.

2. Call for help
If you experience an emergency situation or feel unsafe, concerned or in need of help, give the button on the alarm a short, sharp 1-second press.

3. Talk to us
MePACS will receive the alert and talk to you through the alarm to assess your situation.
Sometimes just having the MePACS response team on the line is enough to diffuse the situation.

Duress Alarm FAQs
Does MePACS track workers?
No. MePACS does not track workers and will only use the GPS location in an emergency or when there is genuine concern for a worker’s safety.
Do MePACS duress alarms work anywhere?
MePACS duress alarms are designed to work across Australia, providing reliable coverage in areas with strong mobile phone signal. While they may have limited functionality in underground car parks or remote rural and mountainous regions, they are a trusted safety solution in a range of scenarios.
Can team members share MePACS duress alarms?
Yes. Team members can share devices. They simply need to press the grey activation button on the alarm to check-in at the start of their shift. They will need to provide MePACS with their name and contact details. They do not need to check-out at the end of their shift.
