In light of continuing self-isolation due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians Richard Colbeck has extended the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) to include monitored personal alarm services, such as MePACS.
Senator Colbeck issued a recent press release in response to the need for extra support and care for Older Australians.
Those who receive CHSP funding or have a Home Care Package are now able to use unspent 2019‑20 funding to purchase a personal alarm that is monitored by a 24/7 emergency response service. This spending is limited to $1,000.
