The lovely Max sent our Marketing department an email the week prior to Christmas to say thank you for our assistance during his medical emergency on December 5.
“I wanted to let you know how grateful I am that I had a MePACS personal alarm when I took a fall on December 5th 2019.
The last thing I remember is closing my front door at 10.30am to go to an appointment. I woke up 2 hours later in Bendigo Hospital not knowing what happened or how I got there. I spent 2 nights there as I split my head open and was profusely bleeding, the doctors believe I may have had a stroke – however nothing has been confirmed. I am now in the care of family. I do not know what made me fall but I fell backwards onto the concrete verandah. I was told that I pressed my MePACS alarm but I do not remember doing so. If it was not for MePACS I could have being laying there for hours as my front door is out of sight of the street and anyone walking past would not have seen me. If it was not for MePACS I don’t think I would be here now.
I am so relieved that my local council worker told me to sign up to the MePACS service in March last year. I hadn’t heard of MePACS prior to their referral and I am so glad the service was recommended to me.
My family also feel very appreciative for the MePACS service, they all live far away and my closest friend lives 10km away so they all worry about me at times. We are all very relieved that I have the safety and reassurance of the MePACS personal alarm.
I feel a lot safer at home now, I feel someone is always there for me should I need emergency assistance.
Thank you all very much” Said Max.
